About Andrew Barnhill:

Licensed into ministry in 2009, Andrew preaches regularly throughout North Carolina and currently manages the endowment of his denomination, the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship-North Carolina, while volunteering his time as chair of a scholarship committee for deserving students. Andrew’s work experience has been broad and extensive, with roles in both the public and private sector.

Andrew combined his interests in faith and politics while working for Eleison Group from 2009-2010, a faith-based firm that works with nonprofit organizations. He learned the ropes of writing and passing legislation while working in the Washington public policy department of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, one of the nation’s largest and most prestigious law firms. During his time on the Executive Council of the North Carolina Democratic Party, Andrew has led several major initiatives, including oversight of the endorsement process for the NC Court of Appeals. Andrew is committed to the importance of volunteer service. In 2008, Andrew received the President’s Voluntary Service Medal from President George W. Bush based on his record of service to the community. Andrew is also a higher education administrator and the State Director of New Leaders Council of North Carolina, a nonprofit designed to train the next generation of leaders.
