In Harry Reid’s view, Chuck Grassley is rapidly becoming the “most political and partisan chairman in history,” who has denigrated the stature of the once-proud Senate Judiciary Committee. Some of Grassley’s recent claims regarding the Supreme Court vacancy, Reid says, are “ridiculous,” and his commitment to transparency is “as shallow as the shallowest puddle you can find.”
Grassley calls those gripes more of the “frequent crying” coming from the Senate’s top Democrat. The Iowa Republican says Reid is lobbing “juvenile attacks” against him because he’s frustrated that Democrats have failed to make any headway on Merrick Garland’s nomination.
